New York City is the most prominent city in the US. Situated in the eye of the New York metropolitan region that includes areas in the neighboring states of Connecticut and New Jersey, this area has one of the fullest population density of the entire earth. New York City is the home of the United Nations, major corporations and media outlets that allow New York to exert noticeable influence around the globe in commercialism, refinement, fashion, entertainment, food and finance.

Many visitants are under the bad assumption that New York City is synonymous for the borough of Manhattan and its famed skyline, however the truth is New York also encompasses four more boroughs: Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
